Project summary

The design intent for this office space was rustic and alternative, to fit in with the up and coming area of east India dock. DPT's original contract works consisted of the refurbishment of fire door sets, fire rated timber wall panelling and reception desk. Bespoke vanity units were also supplied and installed using recycled materials such as scaffold boards and gluelam timber. The reception desk was designed with a variety of materials, and DPT supplied and installed the whole desk. It was a concrete frame, with steel and coned polycarbonate from Italy. Once the reception area design was developed, DPT were approached to bring the intent to life. The material of choice was coned polycarbonate fibre panels in bespoke metal framing. The polycarbonate was an Italian product, and DPT produced the production schedule for all panels to be sent to site to size and all metal framework that was manufactured and sprayed in the UK. The obvious challenge was scheduling production from two different origins, working with zero tolerance!
