The journey of DPT Ltd began in 2005, when Denis Treacy, Andrew Giles, and Betty Treacy established the company from a modest starting point: a box bedroom in the Treacy family home in Harrow.
By 2007, the family – and the business – had outgrown the box room, and the office moved into the garage of their new home. It wasn’t glamorous (and didn’t even have its own entrance), so every visitor had to come through the family home or take a stroll down the garden.
In 2008, the kitchen was repurposed as the office, and this time, it had its own entrance and a toilet – which, much to Betty’s dismay, meant fewer opportunities to stop by for a chat and a cup of tea!
As the business expanded, DPT moved to Alperton House in Park Royal, offering a proper office environment and room to grow. To support the logistics of ongoing projects, Denis & Andrew began renting garages across London to store materials and equipment.
In 2011, DPT moved again – this time to Arundel Road in Uxbridge, a more permanent base with open-plan working, a kitchen, a meeting room, and a small workshop space. The workshop allowed the business to centralise storage and retire the patchwork of rented garages.
In 2015, the purchase of a spindle moulder further enhanced operations, enabling quick production of urgent site components.
Summer of 2017 saw Niamh join the business and thanks to the changes she made, the business took a new leap in 2019, and moved into its current premises in Langley – a larger, more fit-for-purpose space that reflects the scale and ambition of the company today.
Soon after, the Treacy family experienced a profound loss with the untimely passing of Betty Treacy in 2021. A founding partner and the heart of DPT’s early days, Betty’s warmth, humour, and steady presence shaped the business from the very beginning. In the months that followed, the family saw the opportunities that began to emerge not just as a coincidence, but as Betty’s final gift – an unspoken legacy that brought with it a sense of hope, a necessary distraction, and a renewed reason to keep moving forward. Her spirit continues, quietly woven into every success that has followed.
In January 2022, Niamh was appointed Director, securing a steady future for the business. In November 2024, Noel was also made Director, solidifying a leadership team that reflects both continuity and progression.
From a single bedroom to a business with a multi-million-pound turnover, DPT’s story is one to be admired!
Most importantly though, DPT stands today not just because of where it started, but because of the dedication of its long-standing employees, trusted tradespeople, and loyal supply chain – the people who’ve shown up, put in the work, and helped build something lasting.
To everyone who has been part of the journey – clients, colleagues, partners, and friends – thank you.
